Mad Men costume exhibition at QueensPlaza

From the typewriters to the scotch decanters to the evening gowns, every prop and costume you see on Mad Men has been carefully selected. The devoted eye to detail means there are few anachronisms to be found.

One woman behind making the costumes of the cast so genuine is Emmy Award winning costume designer Janie Bryant. Bryant has curated ‘Icons of Style’, a Mad Men costume exhibition now showing at QueensPlaza. You will find complete vintage costumes worn by the Mad Men cast as well as props from the show such as vinyls and antique chairs.

Take advantage of the fact that this exhibition is free and accessible to all. Some poor suckers out there are spending their money on seeing Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.

See the Mad Men magic for yourself, just look for the red carpet outside of David Jones. The exhibition is on until October 2. For those of you who love the clothes and want to see more of Bryant’s work, go to Banana Republic to see the tailored suits and 60s-style dresses available as part of her Mad Men inspired clothing line.
