The Kerbside Markets

Last Sunday was Kerbside Markets in the Valley and with the promise of free BBQ I was expecting every uni kid and their poor, arty friends to be there. There were no annoying crowds or dirty people without shoes but I couldn’t sniff out the free BBQ either. Instead there were attractive people selling their arts, crafts and clothing.

There were under ten stalls in all, but each were of high quality and reasonable price. My favourite stalls were Aidan’s Silver Tooth Vintage and Alice Nightingale. Alice Nightingale had super cute dresses with great cut and fabric. Two dresses in particular caught my eye, one had a whale print and the other one had a crossword puzzle print. My pal Zoe picked up a cute boat steering wheel necklace from Love and Two Guns for $12.

Kerbside a decent crowd inside, nursing beers and milkshakes. Perhaps they were wondering where this free BBQ was at too. The markets will be held each first Sunday of every month and we are looking forward to the stalls growing in numbers. Go like the market page and come along and support local Brisbane designers.
